Starting a new series over here. It’s simple. The ABCs of New Adult titles. Each Monday we’ll offer a book (or books or series title) to highlight. This is a completely unsolicited post designed to highlight some NA titles that may have been missed or flown under the radar or a boost to those that have been out a while. We may or may not have read the book. In rare cases, we may offer a quick and dirty review if we have read it, but not likely.
Of course there are a few rules…
- It has to be an older pub. No new releases.
- The title can not have been highlighted on this site in the past, for any reason.
- And well, it has to start with the next letter in the alphabet.
So for our first book highlight, I actually picked something on my TBR list. And maybe this post will push it to the top of the order.
Book #1 in the Addicted series
She’s addicted to sex. He’s addicted to booze…the only way out is rock bottom.
No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.
Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.
But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie. Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex.
The reason I picked this one… I have to be honest, the title caught my attention. So did the cover. But the blurb really piqued my interest. I mean, two addicts, two different addictions, and that logline… “Their real vice may be each other.” I *need* to know, is that their real vice? If so, sign me up. I’m in the mood for a good addictive relationship. Consider me currently reading ADDICTED TO YOU.
