Thank an author. review. Review. REVIEW.

Before publishing our first book, Kira and I both read quite a bit and dabbled with writing the occasional review. When we liked a book we talked to people, told them all about the story and author, and encouraging others to check out what got us so excited. However, posting reviews didn’t always cross our minds. I mean we were promoting the books and authors we loved, right?

For our less than 100% review writing, we are sincerely sorry because we had NO idea how important reviews were to authors. No idea at all. But now we do. And we try much harder to be proficient readers AND reviewers, even if it’s just to attach a couple of stars to a book when we don’t have time to write long winded pondering on recently read books.

write-a-reviewSomething we also realize now that we’re published authors? IT’S DAMN HARD TO GET REVIEWS. We’ve done a great job of securing reviews from early readers. Those reviewers mean the world do us, they really, truly do. Not only did they take the time to read our book, they went out of their way to give an honest review.

But now, we find ourselves in need of begging for more reads and reviews and not entirely sure how to start. Then it struck us – why not ask all of YOU? As Authors, we want to connect to you, our readers. Did we get it right? Did we miss?
